Pastor Terry J. Kennedy

Pastor Terry J. Kennedy was born March 20, 1961 to Deacon Bobby G.and Deaconess Lois Kennedy. He is the Senior Pastor of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Deland, FL. Pastor Kennedy is a native of Sandcut/Pahokee, Florida and has served diligently in ministry since childhood. God used his experiences and his teaching to anoint him to develop disciples' saved, empowered and equipped to fulfill God's divine-ordained purpose in their life.

Prior to his call to the Christian ministry, Pastor Kennedy was serving as a Deacon at New Bethel MBC under the leadership of Pastor Bill F. Lewis in Sanford, Florida. He eagerly responded to the Lord's calling on his life and was licensed to preach. He was later called to Pastor the Word of Life Fellowship Church in DeLand (which is now Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church) in February 2013 . Pastor Kennedy not only preaches the Gospel, but uses his prior experiences to demonstrate and teach servant leadership to church members, deacons, and pastors, in order to help the church be a real live body ministry.

Pastor Kennedy believes in the transformative power of the Holy Ghost and with God's anointing, he ministers to people to experience the fullness of the Holy Spirit's power through redemption, restoration, revelation and demonstration. His ministry is based on the scriptures “ I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.” (Psalms 27:13-14)

Pastor Kennedy is committed to winning souls for Christ and uses preaching to provide God's divine Word to address matters important to salvation, human existence, and for practical application.

His anointing and experience has gifted him with an ability to help the young, new Christians and those seasoned in Christ to prepare for, adapt to and experience transformation spiritually, economically, professionally, and socially in accordance to the Lord. One of his favorite scriptures is 11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” (Jeremiah 29:11)
